How do I post a new topic in the forum?
If you joined before 6th June 2007, you must have at least 50
Exp to be able to post in the forum.
If you joined on or after 6th June 2007, you must have at least 100
Exp to be able to post in the forum.
- Make sure you are signed in to RewardsCentral then click on Community, then Forum;
- Place your cursor over the Post New Topic link;
- Select the most appropriate category to post your message in from the drop down menu, then click on that category;
- Enter a subject for your post, then enter your message;
- Click on Post message when you have finished and your new topic will be posted in the forum.
How do I add smileys to my forum post?
To
view all smileys, click the

button to the right of the smiley buttons.
To
insert a smiley into your post, click on the smiley you want to use. The corresponding characters will appear in the message box.
Alternatively, just type the correct characters directly into the message box, and the smiley will appear in your post.

How do I add a link to my forum post?
- Type in the address of the web site you wish to link to in the message box;
- Highlight the web site address;
- Click on the
button above the message box to insert the neccessary code.
If you post an inappropriate (eg. pornographic site) link, it will be removed immediately and your membership may be cancelled.
How do I add a picture to my forum post?
Before posting a picture, please check the following:
- The picture must be in JPEG or GIF format (with a file extension of .jpg or .gif).
- The picture must be no wider than 500 pixels. If it is any wider, it will disturb the layout of the forum and may be removed by a moderator.
- The picture must be on the web, and you need to know the address (URL) for it. If the picture is on your computer's hard disk, you will need to upload it to the web somewhere.
To post a picture:
- Click on the
button just above the message box. This will insert the necessary code into the message box;
- Replace the text 'INSERT YOUR IMAGE URL HERE' with the URL of the image (e.g. http://www.web.com/image.gif).
Alternatively, you can type the following text as shown in red, directly into the message box:
<img src="http://www.web.com/image.gif">
To help you remember this, the < and > things tell a web browser that this is an instruction for it, the "img" part is an abbreviation for "image" and the "src" part
is an abbreviation for "source".

How do I use the forum options menu?
The forum options menu can be found on the right hand side of each post within a topic.

Allows you to submit a complaint to RewardsCentral about a particular topic or post. Please refer to How do I report a problem in the forum or make a complaint? for more information. |

Allows you to delete only topics that you started. Remember, RewardsCentral retains a record of every single post, including deleted posts. Just click and confirm to delete your topic. |
| Ban member from my topics |
Allows you to prevent a member from posting in any topics that you start. A ban will only last for two weeks. If you ban a member from your topics, you will still be able to post replies in topics they started. Just click on the Ban member from my topics link beside the post by the member you want to ban and confirm. |
| Filter for this topic |
This defines who can post replies to any topics which you start. Set the filter by entering the minimum amount of Exp members must have in order to reply to your post and click Save. Any members who do not have the amount of Exp specified will not be able to post a reply. |
The forum options menu is designed to make you accountable for the type of posts that you make. Remember these forums are still moderated, and RewardsCentral will always retain final discretion over the nature of discussions in the RewardsCentral forum.
These options are based on the concept of "topic owners". If you started a topic, then you are the "topic owner".
How do I report a problem in the forum or make a complaint?
- Make sure you are signed in;
- Next to the post that you want to report, click on the "Report this post" option.
- This will bring up the Contact RewardsCentral page, with some specific information about the topic and post already filled in. Do not change the category or subject line;
- In the Message box, enter your complaint about the post or topic. Explain why you feel the post is inappropriate and include any relevant background or history. Please keep your report as brief as possible.
Using this method to report a problem in the forum will help RewardsCentral investigate the problem and take the appropriate action quickly.
RewardsCentral cannot guarantee that any action will be taken as a result of your report.
Can I delete my own posts?
No, you cannot delete your own posts. However, you can delete a topic that you started, or any replies to that topic.
Can I change my forum username?
No. Your username is permanent, so choose wisely!

Why was my post deleted?
A reply you made to a topic may have been deleted by the topic owner for any reason.
A post or topic of yours could have been deleted by a RewardsCentral moderator for any number of reasons:
- The post may have contained illegal material;
- The post may have contained material that violates the rights of others, including an invasion of privacy;
- The post may have contained threatening, abusive, defamatory, or profane language;
- The post may have contained obscene, vulgar, pornographic, or sexually explicit material;
- The post may have contained an advertisement, or it was deemed to be for personal financial gain, or it was promoting a RewardsCentral competitor;
- The post may have contained a link to a website that breached any of the above rules;
- The post may have been too wide, meaning it disturbed the layout of the RewardsCentral Web site;
- The post may have been a duplicate post, ie. the exact same message was posted twice;
- The post may have contained no actual message or meaning, for example a post with a broken image and nothing else;
- The topic may have been posted in the wrong forum category;
- The post may have been otherwise not in keeping with the spirit of this forum.
Remember, under the
Terms of Service which you agreed to upon joining, RewardsCentral reserves the right to remove any message from the forum without reason.
If you believe a post/topic should not have been removed, please
contact RewardsCentral.
In order to conserve storage space and improve performance of the forum, RewardsCentral also archives old topics that have not been active for a year or two. Archived topics are no longer visible on the RewardsCentral website.
Who are the moderators?
The forum is moderated by both RewardsCentral staff and selected RewardsCentral members. The member moderators go through a rigorous selection process and are given an 8-page moderator's handbook with strict guidelines governing how to moderate the forums.
Moderators can be identified by the

icon. The head moderator has the username Moderator and other moderators are named after the moons of Neptune, namely Triton, Nereid, Proteus, Larissa, Despina, Galatea, Thalassa, and Naiad. You may or may not see them posting in the forum.
The moderators are directed to only explain their actions when absolutely necessary.
